Dimension lines

In DDS-CAD 10 we have presented the new dimension line function for the first time. It was characterized mainly by its ease of use and the intelligent and associated connection to dimensioned objects. The function has been further enhanced in DDS-CAD 11 and the main change is immediately apparent: the restriction of two measuring points per dimension line is removed.

You can create a multi dimension line with any number of measuring points, dynamically move them and insert additional measurement points.

In addition, the function provides a whole lot more…

In DDS‑CAD 11 you can dimension cross-sections and part models directly. Here too, the intelligent and associative connection between the dimensioned objects is retained.

In other words, if the dimensioned objects are moved, the dimension lines will automatically change and move along.

If you have defined a multi dimension line with several measurement points, you can:

• Derive the sum and add an additional "main" dimension line on top .
• Generate instantly an additional multi dimension line to dimension the other direction or side .

You can edit the content of each dimension value and also add additional text to it (e.g. for further clarification). Of course, you can always reset a changed dimension value.
