Ventilation duct – Start
From an object

Example

Suppose you want to start a new ventilation duct at a certain distance from a reference line. The reference line can be part of a discretionary object.

The first segment is horizontal or vertical.

Workflow

Ventilation duct

  1. Activate: Standard ToolsClosed

  2. Select the function in Context ToolbarClosed



     The cursor appears as a crosshair.

  1. Press [D].
    The dialog appears: Distance from Line
  2. Insert the value.
  3. Click OK. The entered value applies as distance until you define a different value. You can start the ventilation duct.
  1. Press and hold [Ctrl].
  2. Move the cursor to the line. Approach from the side on which the ventilation duct should start. The line is highlighted in orange.
  3. Additionally, press [D].
    The dialog appears: DuctStart

  4. Check the settings.

    The duct starts at a free position at a free height. The direction of the first segment can be horizontally or vertically.

    Distance between the selected reference and the centre axis of the object.

    In the case of settings Free and User 1 - … User 4 - you can enter the mounting height as a number with the desired length unit.

    Opens the product database and allows the selection of a product.

  5. Click OK. The ventilation duct starts at the set distance from the line. You can draw the course.
