Example

Suppose you want to insert a single object of this category in a vertical duct.

Objects in vertical ducts are visible in three-dimensional views.

Workflow

  1. Activate: Standard ToolsClosed

  2. Select the function in Context ToolbarClosed
    The cursor moves the object.The information line shows: [Click Left] at segment=Position to insert

  1. Apply a sufficient zoom level - Closedzoom.

    The scroll wheel of the mouse allows you to zoom in and out in any situation, even in case of active functions and open dialogs.

    You approach the model. The position of the cursor defines the focus point.

    Example 1

    If the mouse cursor is on the upper left corner of the area of interest, the image expands downward from the right.

    Example 2

    Puts the focus on the lower right corner of the area, the image extends up to the left.

    You move away from the model. The position of the cursor defines the focus point. The reducing image moves toward the mouse cursor.

    Example 1

    If the focus is on the upper left corner of the screen, which moves the reducing image to the upper left.

    Example 2

    If the focus is on the lower right corner of the screen, which moves the reducing image to the lower right.

    The cursor appears as a magnifying glass. You can drag a window to determine the zoom area.

    You move away from the model with every click until the image is reduced to 50%.

    The display is optimized so that the entire model appears on the screen.

    [Ctrl] +[Home]

    The display is optimized so that the entire model appears on the screen. The borders of the model are completely visible within the screen.

    Zoom Extent

    [Ctrl] +[End]

    The display is optimized so that the entire model appears on the screen. The borders of the model touch the screen.

    Zoom to assumed extent of drawing. Exclude objects far away.

    [Shift]+[Ctrl]+[Z]

    Note

    This is useful only during the processing of DWG/DXF files.

    The display is optimized so that objects lying far outside the plot are ignored.

    You may occasionally receive drawings in which individual fragments are positioned outside the floor plan. This means that the actual drawing after calling the function Zoom All appears as a point or spot on the screen.

    With Zoom to assumed extent of drawing. Exclude objects far away. you can avoid this effect.

    Zoom Window

    [Shift]+[W]

    The cursor appears as a magnifying glass. When holding down left mouse button you can drag a window to determine the zoom area.

    Zoom Centre...

    After the function is started, DDScad will expect a position that is to be placed at the center of the screen:

    Click on the position of interest. The visible range is shifted so that the displayed position is in the center of the screen. The image is neither zoomed in or out.

    Zoom In

    [Ctrl] +[PgDn]

    		 The image is enlarged with factor two.

    Zoom Out

    [Ctrl] +[PgUp]

    The image is reduced by half.

    DDScad symbolizes vertical ducts with its geometric shape and dimensions from the top view.

  2. Point into the vertical ventilation duct. The vertical segment appears as a marked object. DDScad displays the information about the duct segment and the current position. The displayed height corresponds to the center of the vertical section, measured from FFL.

  3. Click . The dialog appears: Give position in flow segment

  4. Define the installation height.

  5. Click OK. The dialog appears: Heat Exchanger

  1. Check the settings.

    The symbol is centered.

    The symbol is passed to an end.

    The setting only applies to objects in vertical duct segments. The rotation of the component is defined as angle. At an angle=0, the object is rotated to the right and corresponds to the position of the X-axis. A positive rotation causes the component to rotate counter clockwise.

    The product defines the appearance and behavior of the object. Select the appropriate product in the product database. You may need to search for it or create a new product.

    Click .... The product database appears.

    You have found the appropriate product

    Select the desired entry by double clicking . The product database is closed. The object dialog opens.

    The product is difficult to find

    Suppose the product database contains a wide selection and the product is hard to find. In this case, various functions can assist you in your search. Closed More

    The product database is organized as a tree structure and equipped with search fields . You can also broaden or limit your search .

    The search fields act as filters that are linked by an AND relationship. DDScad limits the display of those products that contain the string entered in the corresponding data fields. You can narrow down the display even further by using another search field.

    You can expand or limit the effect of the search fields as is required.

    Setting Effect
    The product database limits the display to products that are used in the current project.
    The product database expands the display to all available products.
    Setting Effect
    The effect of the search fields applies to all branches of the tree structure.
    The effect of the search fields is valid only for the active branch of the tree structure.

    No appropriate product exists

    Create a new product.

  2. Click OK. The object is part of the duct segment and the function remains active with the current settings. You can insert the object again at a different position.
