Layer

Layer in the organizational structure of a CAD drawing. The association with a layer assigns the object to a group of further objects with the same behaviour. For every layer, there is an answer to each of these questions:

• Are the objects of this layer visible?
• Are the objects of this layer exportable?
• Are the objects of this layer editable?
• Do the objects of this layer appear on the printout?
• Do the objects of this layer use an individualized or a uniform pen?
