Conceptual changes

By using the Import and Model Admin, you can ghost models from any other discipline in the active working model. This means, you can visualize, for example in the electrical model, the ventilation ducts to coordinate the design of the cable trays.

In the previous version it was necessary that the license had to contain the discipline of the processed model and of the model to be ghosted. This means for the above example, the workstation for electrical design had to have a license for electrical planning as well as ventilation.

With version 8 this limitation is not applicable anymore. The active workstation only requires a license for the discipline for which designs have to be produced. The supporting visualization of different disciplines (ghosting) is independent irrespective of the license in use. The electrical engineer can ghost the ventilation models without having to have a license. The added value of this development is reflected in two aspects.

Simplified internal information exchange

Using the example of an engineering company with one license for all disciplines in DDS-CAD, offering absolute independence for each user. Suppose that the licenses are centrally monitored by a network dongle. In this case, each engineer can visualize the results of his colleagues, without blocking the license.

Simplified external information exchange

When multiple companies from different disciplines are working together on the same project, it is logical that each office only has the license for their own disciplines. Previously it was only possible to share information together via DWG/DXF files even though everyone was working with DDS-CAD.

Version 8 offers entirely new possibilities. If several project participants (different companies) are working with DDS-CAD, the additional step of exchanging information via DWG/DXF files is not required anymore.
