Electrical - KNX

Until version 7.3, no interaction was possible between DDS-CAD and ETS(Engineering Tool Software ™, a program for planning, commissioning and managing KNX systems, see Hompage). DDS-CAD 8 and ETS 3 can now exchange their data with each other, resulting in the outcome of an integrated planning process. Note to ETS 4... The interface within DDS-CAD has been prepared. Our partner, IT GMBH, is working on the release of the interface for ETS 4. The principle of the data exchange will remain the same between both tools.

Attention! 
For the exchange of data you need additional ETS macros (tools that are not included in a default installation for ETS. For more information, visit the website of the developer).

• Start the ETS macro (1)
• Select from the menu the function Import device list xml DDS (2). The dialog "Open" appears.
• Select the file that you previously exported with DDS-CAD. You are asked whether you want to import into the current project, or whether a new project should be created.
  
  
• Make your selection. ETs analyses the project and the product searcher appears. ETS demands for every KNX object from DDS-CAD (3) the assignment of a product from the ETS catalog.
• Create the correct associations for the DDS objects (3) and a specific KNX product. Use the filter and search functions and confirm the assignment with OK. The query for KNX object appears.
• Repeat the process of assigning KNX products until the mapping dialog no longer appears. The project is completely transferred to ETS. The KNX components appear in the window “topology” and “building” with no physical address:
