Backup and archiving
DDS-CAD has an automatic backup function.
- An automatic backup routine saves the opened data in a subdirectory of the project folder every five minutes.When restarting DDS-CAD after a unintentional termination, the software automatically accesses the backup.
- A configurable backup and archiving function operates on the principles of a versioning tool.It stores only the changes at any given time.
Archiving functions
The archiving features save the current states of projects, allow a restore in the current project or save the projects in a separate directory.

Backup functions
The Backup is designed to protect against loss of data that may be cause by hardware failure (for example a faulty hard disc drive). Use this option if you manage your projects, for example, on the local hard disc drive of the workstation and not perform regular backups.
Note
If you manage your projects in an environment that has an automatic data backup, you can choose not to backup with DDS-CAD as well.
