Create a building model – Content and goals of the chapters

The building model is created either by importing a suitable IFC model or by manual construction in DDS-CAD. This chapter describes two strategies for manual construction. The choice of strategy depends on the format of the plan provided as DWG/DXF/PDF or as a template on paper

On the basis of a floor plan

In case you have imported the plan in the format DWG, DXF or PDF, you can construct the building model very quickly. You create the required structures by using the imported layout as a template.

Construct based on template

In case you have received the plan in no suitable data format for import, you should construct the building model based on a template (e.g. architectural drawing, sketch, measurements, etc.).

Zones

You can include multiple rooms independent from their storey or area into a zone.
