Building model – On the basis of a floor plan
In case you have imported the plan in the format DWG, DXF or PDF, you can construct the building model very quickly. You create the required structures by using the imported layout as a template.
Not in every case you must develop a complete building model. You can adjust the level of detail to the requirement of the project.
Workflow
For the construction of a storey, you can adhere to the following scheme. It shows the dependencies of the different structures to each other. From this you can deduce the order of the individual steps.

The area defines the outer frame for the multiple rooms with common properties on the same storey. It is a necessary condition to fulfil before defining the roof and rooms. You can neglect the definition of an area if you only need to define individual rooms.

Suppose you are editing a building with several similar storeys. In this case, you can save time by copying the model of a finished floor and subsequently correct it.
Important!
If rooms already have been defined in the current storey, they will be removed and overwritten by the copied storey.
- Open the new storey model that needs to be created.

Start the function
Building .
The dialog appears.
Building
Select the function in Main Toolbar
- Activate the tab: Basic Data

Select the entry that describes the appropriate storey that you want to copy.
- Click
. The context menu appears. - Select: Copy room content from selected storey to current
The selected storey is copied and pasted in the current storey. - Make the necessary adjustments.
